Are you not entertained?
Everybody loves a concert…and expos, fairs, rodeos and more. Help us create a better entertainment environment for Wichita Falls!
The MPEC’s three facilities all experience heavy use, and are in need of upgrades and additional equipment to meet the requirements of today’s event planners and customers. For the Kay Yeager Coliseum, Proposition E would mean new LED lighting, digital ticket scanners, portable seating and camera upgrades. The Ray Clymer Exhibit Hall would get restroom renovations, new dividing walls and a portable sound system. For the Bridwell Ag Center, passing Prop E would bring a new roof along with new panels, chutes and announcer stands for rodeos and other equestrian-type events. In addition, all three venues would see upgrades to their video surveillance systems.
Built in 1927, this grand old facility still serves us well. Hosting concerts, ballet, comedians and more each year, the auditorium is sorely in need of upgrades to help attract better performances and to provide more professional entertainment to the citizens of Wichita Falls and the region. This proposition would provide new curtains, lighting, rigging and a sound system for the stage. Did you know the auditorium has no sound system? That means anyone who brings a show to this venue must either own their own system, or must pay thousands of dollars to rent one. A new sound system and the other upgrades mentioned previously would help attract better performances and add to the quality of life in Wichita Falls.
